Wagotabi was conceived by aggregating data from different sources in order to provide accurate Japanese-language information and translations.

JMdict

Japanese includes material from the JMdict dictionary files in accordance with the license provisions of the Electronic Dictionaries Research Group.

JMdict is a large machine-readable multilingual Japanese dictionary which contains translations for around 282,000 Japanese entries. See JMdict/EDICT‍ and EDRDG for details.

KanjiVG

JLPT

JLPT “Test Content Specifications" are no longer available after the 2010 revision of the JLPT, this is because the Japan Foundation decided that publishing lists of vocabulary, Kanji and grammar items was not necessarily appropriate (http://www.jlpt.jp/). However, a couple sources were used to make such lists in the Wagotabi app.
